E3Live is 100% AFA, a superior blue-green algae. It is not man-made or manufactured, but harvested from nature under the highest of standards before it is sent to you in its fresh-frozen state. There are hundreds, perhaps thousands of species of blue-green algae; some are edible, some are not. AFA is an edible species of blue-green algae that has been consumed by indigenous people for thousands of years. AFA is a very nutritious, whole food containing over 65 nutrients that are easily absorbed by the body.

As with any wild-grown food, you want to be sure that you are getting 100% safe and edible AFA, harvested by the most reputable of harvesters. E3 Live's harvesting and purity testing is of the utmost importance. E3 Live not only meets, but exceeds quality and safety standards for harvesting processes. E3 Live adheres to strict Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) in order to maintain Certified Organic status and Kosher certification.

AFA Harvesting

E3Live is the only AFA that is live, liquid and delivered to you closest to its natural state. E3Live is a non-GMO heirloom variety that is selectively gathered by our expert harvesters, and collected from only the deepest, most pristine waters of Upper Klamath Lake. We harvest only at peak times of optimal growth, when the AFA is the heartiest, healthiest and most vibrant. Harvesting AFA is an art and a science. We discovered that the strongest and freshest AFA possesses the highest life-force.

The benefits of AFA are directly proportional to the quality of the harvesting source, and how the AFA is handled at every step of the process. We take pride in knowing that we bring you the most potent and powerful AFA in the world. E3Live's superior harvesting and proprietary filtration methods ensure the absolute highest quality. Our AFA is selectively harvested so that only the purest, most vibrant blooms are gathered. Starting at our harvest site, E3Live is immediately chilled to preserve its natural vitality and highest nutritional value. As harvesters, we work hand-in-hand with the most experienced, conscientious and knowledgeable researchers in the world.

From the moment we harvest the AFA, to its final packaging, we work with only the most highly trained and qualified staff. We handle our AFA with such care from start to finish. Factors contributing to this quality include: where and how we harvest, keeping the AFA cold at all times, superior filtration and storage, and ongoing quality-control testing of all of our products. All E3 products are tested thoroughly by independent USDA certified labs for food safety, shelf-life and various other purity tests.

klamath lake

Upper Klamath Lake, a high desert lake, is located in the southern most part of the state of Oregon, at an elevation of 4100 feet above sea level. The lake is protected to the northwest by the Cascade Mountains with an arid sagebrush steppe to the east and south. Klamath Lake has a surface area of about 140 square miles and has an average depth of 8 feet. The lake is fed by 17 mineral-rich rivers that deposit an average of 50,000 tons of mineral-rich silt from the surrounding 4000 square mile volcanic basin, making Upper Klamath Lake one of the richest nutrient traps in the world, impossible to artificially to duplicate. The lake waters and its sediments have an astonishingly high mineral and trace element concentration due to a massive volcanic eruption that occurred from Mount Mazama over 7700 years ago. The event covered the area with millions of tons of mineral ash as far as the Canadian border. Crater Lake, to the north, is what is left of this eruption. The regions volcanic legacy is associated with "The Pacific Ring of Fire," a geologically active region that experiences large-scale volcanic, tectonic, and glacial events. The volcanoes, earthquakes, and crumpled mountain chains, that border the Pacific, are the result of buckling edges of great plates of the Earth's crust under compression.

Upper Klamath Lake is free of adverse bacteria, heavy metals, pesticides, herbicides, insecticides and fungicides. The lake receives an average 300 days of sunlight per year which provides a perfect growing environment for the world's richest strain of wild AFA blue-green algae, scientifically known as Aphanizomenon flos-aquae. The alkaline lake water provides more than 60 times the nutrients needed for the algae to grow to its full potential each year. Under the right conditions, AFA algae can reproduce every 20 minutes, which provides a plentiful abundance of this organic, high life-force, miracle super food.

AFA (Aphanizomenon flos-aquae), or the Aqua Botanical that we harvest, produces its own energy and food from sunlight and moist conditions through photosynthesis. As the first protein and most ancient food on Earth, it is so sustainable on its own that it is the first sign of life scientists look for on other planets. Our E3 AFA is a non-GMO heirloom variety.

Economic Impact of Harvesting

The wealth of naturally occurring minerals and nutrients is responsible for the unique abundant growth. With nearly 30 feet of mineral-rich sediment at its bottoms, much donated from the explosion of Mt. Mazama, a recent study estimated that the top single inch of the lake alone contains enough nutrients to sustain a full algal bloom. During its peak, Klamath Lake can support up to 14 million pounds of AFA. Although Klamath Lake supports such massive blooms, our company only harvests a small fraction of this amount, creating little to no effect on the carbon footprint.

Self-Sustaining

While harvesting, only these algal blooms in the top inches of the lake are targeted; therefore, the ecosystem of the lake can continue its cycle without interference. With the right temperatures and conditions, AFA is a self-sustaining food source. All algae combined provide up to 80 percent of Earth's food, and grows rapidly to keep up with its consumption. Our responsibility to ensure the reproduction of AFA in the future to come is to protect the deep waters of Klamath Lake, leaving them undisturbed by our harvesting.

certifications for E3Live

Organic Certification

Since 2001, E3Live products and facilities have been certified organic through OTCO (Oregon Tilth Certified Organic). OTCO provides a system of strict production standards and annual on-site inspections of not only E3Live's (Klamath Algae Products, Inc.) facilities, but the Upper Klamath Lake watershed. Oregon Tilth is the most respected name in organic certification, which is why we are OTCO certified. OTCO has been certifying E3Live to the U.S Department of Agriculture (USDA) National Organic Program (NOP) and to the Canada Organic Regulation.

Kosher Certification

E3Live is certified to kosher standards by Rabbi Zushe Blech, as he is considered one of the world's leading experts in modern kosher food production and technology. Rabbi Zushe Blech of Monsey, NY, has been serving for over 20 years in positions relating to all aspects of kosher certification. There is an annual inspection if E3Live's facilities and products, as well as a review of our documentation. We are continuously striving to add more and more of our products to the kosher-certified list.

Thanks to our customers, over $250,000 worth of products have been donated to clients and patients of our clients.
